Overview
Puy-Saint-Vincent sits above the Vallouise valley in the Hautes-Alpes. Its three accommodation levels serve different kinds of stay: the older village at 1400, the main resort centre at 1600 and higher residences at 1800. The operator advertises an alpine area from 1,400 to 2,750 metres, with 75 km of pistes, plus separate Nordic skiing. Choose a property around the daily journey to your lessons and services rather than the altitude alone.
Planning your stay
Confirm the exact village level, property address, lift access and lesson meeting point before paying. Research rail arrival via L’Argentière and the final journey using the current local transport information; winter shuttle pages can still show the previous season. Check the dated lift report, suitable hire collection, winter road conditions and cancellation terms. An advertised piste total does not mean every run is open during your stay.
Frequently asked
Planning Puy-Saint-Vincent
Should I stay at Puy-Saint-Vincent 1400, 1600 or 1800?
Compare the historic village at 1400, main services centre at 1600 and higher residences at 1800. Choose around the exact property’s lift access, lesson meeting point and evening needs; the altitude label alone is not a guarantee of convenience.
Is Puy-Saint-Vincent suitable for beginners?
The operator lists learning areas at 1400 and 1600 and links ESF and ESI schools. Confirm the appropriate class, language, required pass and meeting point for each learner before booking accommodation.
Can I visit without hiring a car?
Research rail arrival via L’Argentière and the current local and winter shuttle connections. Match actual stops and times to your property and lessons, and arrange the last leg or late arrival separately when needed.
What can we do away from downhill skiing?
Research separate Nordic skiing, locally advised snowshoeing, the Panoramic indoor complex and the cinema at 1600. The regional indoor pool is in L’Argentière. Confirm the relevant opening and transport for your dates.
