Overview
Pelvoux-Vallouise combines a village-based alpine ski area with a wider valley holiday in the Pays des Écrins. The alpine operator currently describes 18 pistes over 25 km, reaching 2,300 metres; that is separate from the Vallouise–Pelvoux Nordic area. Choose between a base close to alpine lessons and a valley village stay with transport arranged. It is a different scale of holiday from nearby Puy-Saint-Vincent, rather than an interchangeable lift-linked extension.
Planning your stay
Decide whether downhill skiing, Nordic skiing or guided mountain days lead the trip. Ask for the exact accommodation address and the relevant meeting point, then check the everyday journey between them. Confirm current alpine and Nordic opening separately, dated valley transport, hire requirements and the whole booking’s terms. In the alpine area, operator hours can vary by school-holiday period and weekday, so check your specific dates.
Frequently asked
Planning Pelvoux-Vallouise
Are Pelvoux alpine skiing and Vallouise Nordic skiing the same area?
They are different activities and areas. The alpine operator runs lift-served downhill skiing; the Vallouise–Pelvoux Nordic network is in the valley. Check the relevant map, opening information, equipment and ticket separately.
How large is the Pelvoux-Vallouise alpine area?
The current operator page advertises 18 pistes across 25 km and an upper altitude of 2,300 metres. Earlier material can give other figures. Check the current map and daily report; an advertised total does not mean all pistes are open.
Can I get there by train?
Investigate arrival via L’Argentière and the local valley connections, then confirm the exact final journey to your accommodation. Check dated transport information and arrange a separate last leg for a late arrival when necessary.
Can we combine it with Puy-Saint-Vincent?
You can research a separate visit, but confirm the transport, current operations and the pass that covers the intended skiing. Do not assume nearby resorts are joined by a ski route or that one ticket automatically covers both.
